DDA Extends Payment Deadline for Karkardooma Project Flats to June 30, 2026; No Interest on Early Payments

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has announced an extension for the payment deadline for flats allotted under the Towering Heights project in Karkardooma, East Delhi.
This extension applies to homes under the 2025 e-auction and the 2026 first-come, first-served housing scheme.
Karkardooma Project Payment Deadline Extended
In a circular issued on April 30, 2026, the DDA declared that the payment deadline for the allotted flats has been extended to June 30, 2026.
This decision was made in light of expected delays in obtaining statutory approvals, which might extend beyond the scheduled completion date in July 2026.
The extension allows allottees to pay without any interest until June 30, 2026. However, payments made between July 1 and July 30, 2026, will incur a 10% interest charge on the outstanding amount.
Project Overview and Pricing
The Hindustan Times reported that the Towering Heights project includes 1,026 premium 2BHK apartments.
These homes were offered through an e-auction process, with base reserve prices ranging from ₹1.8 crore to ₹3.1 crore.
DDA's decision to extend the payment deadline considers representations from allottees seeking more time due to project-related delays.
Prominent Features of the Towering Heights Project
The Towering Heights project is the DDA’s first housing initiative under Delhi's Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) policy. This premium residential venture features Delhi's tallest residential tower, a 48-storey building reaching 155 metres.
Developed under NBCC's supervision, the project is part of the East Delhi Hub, spanning 30 hectares and incorporating residential, commercial, and civic spaces.
The project is strategically located adjacent to the Karkardooma Interchange Metro Station, providing connectivity to the Blue and Pink Lines, NH-9, NH-24, and proximity to the Anand Vihar ISBT railway station.

Details of Allotment and Future Steps
Under the Karkardooma Housing Scheme 2026, 741 flats were made available to individuals on a first-come, first-served basis, while 107 flats were set aside for bulk allotment to government institutions.
The project aims to create a mixed-use urban centre with state-of-the-art amenities, enhancing the residential experience for occupants.
Conclusion
The DDA’s extension of the payment deadline provides relief for allottees of the Towering Heights project in Karkardooma. This initiative allows flexibility in financial planning, further accommodating the delay in statutory approvals and project completion. It outlines a clear schedule for interest-free payments up to June 30, 2026, and details the interest charges for late payments.
