Centre Approves ₹531 Crore Financial Assistance for 553 Solar Power Providers in Rajasthan

The Central Government has approved ₹531 crore in financial assistance for 553 solar power providers in Rajasthan under Component-C of the PM-KUSUM scheme.

The Central Government has sanctioned ₹531 crore in Central Financial Assistance (CFA) for 553 energy providers in Rajasthan under Component-C of the PM-KUSUM scheme, as per news reports.  

The approved funds will support solar power projects aimed at agricultural feeder solarisation and are set to be disbursed through the state's electricity distribution companies. 

Assistance Allocated Across Jodhpur and Ajmer Discoms 

Out of the total approved amount, ₹379.41 crore has been sanctioned for 432 energy providers associated with Jodhpur Discom, covering projects with a combined capacity of 429 MW.  

Another ₹151.21 crore has been approved for 121 solar power producers linked to Ajmer Discom, where projects account for 169 MW of capacity. 

According to the state energy department, the approved assistance will be transferred to the beneficiaries' bank accounts by the respective distribution companies. 

Component-C Focuses on Agricultural Feeder Solarisation 

Component-C of the PM-KUSUM scheme supports the solarisation of grid-connected agricultural pumps and allows farmers to sell surplus electricity to distribution companies. 

Under the programme, decentralised solar power plants of up to 5 MW can be established on barren land located within a 5 km radius of a substation.  

The Central Government provides financial assistance of up to 30% of the plant cost and capacity, with support capped at ₹1.05 crore per MW. 

More Than 1,300 Projects Established in Rajasthan 

According to the official, Rajasthan has established 1,312 projects under Component-C with a combined capacity of 3,371 MW.  

Of this, Jodhpur Discom accounts for 2,647 MW, followed by Ajmer Discom with 373 MW and Jaipur Discom with 352 MW. 

The state has also submitted CFA claims amounting to ₹1,012 crore through the Jaipur, Jodhpur and Ajmer Discoms.  

Out of these claims, ₹670 crore has already been received from the Central Government for 720 solar power producers.

Conclusion 

With 1,312 projects and a combined installed capacity of 3,371 MW under Component-C of the PM-KUSUM scheme, Rajasthan has received approval for ₹531 crore in Central Financial Assistance covering 553 energy providers across Jodhpur and Ajmer Discoms.
