Andhra Pradesh Cabinet Clears Investments Worth Over ₹1.42 Lakh Crore Across Sectors

The Andhra Pradesh cabinet on Thursday approved investment proposals worth more than ₹1.42 lakh crore across sectors such as energy, manufacturing, information technology, food processing and infrastructure, as per PTI reports.  

The decisions were taken during the 49th cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the Secretariat. 

According to Information and Public Relations Minister K. Parthasarathi, the projects are to bring industrial activity and employment opportunities to different parts of the state. 

Reliance Gets Approval for AI Data Centre 

Among the largest proposals cleared was Reliance Industries’ planned AI data centre project in Visakhapatnam district. The state approved allotment of around 855 acres for the facility, which will also include a cable landing station. 

The project will come up across Polipalli, Bhogapuram East and Bhogapuram West villages. The proposed investment is estimated at over ₹1.08 lakh crore.  

The government said the project could create around 1,000 direct jobs, apart from indirect employment linked to construction and support services. 

Manufacturing and Industrial Projects 

The cabinet approved special incentives for Apollo Tyres for expansion of its tyre manufacturing facility at Varadaiahpalem in Chittoor district. The expansion project involves an investment of ₹6,100 crore and is expected to generate employment for around 1,000 people. 

Eicher Motors also received approval to establish a motorcycle manufacturing facility for its Royal Enfield business in Tirupati district. The project involves an investment of ₹2,508 crore and is to create around 3,000 jobs. 

Approvals were also granted for projects by Gridon Energy, Carrier Airconditioning and Refrigeration and Chettinad Cement in manufacturing and industrial segments. 

Energy and Infrastructure Projects 

The cabinet cleared Reliance Industries’ proposal for a large solar and battery storage project in Sri Sathya Sai district under the Andhra Pradesh Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024.  

The state government also approved proposals related to pumped storage, green hydrogen, compressed biogas, and airport infrastructure projects in different districts.

Conclusion  

The cabinet decisions include large-scale industrial and infrastructure proposals under various state policies. Multiple projects are to move forward in phases over the coming years.
