Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC)

A Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) is a deposit instrument offered by trust companies or banks that requires a minimum investment and offers a predetermined rate of interest for a specified term, typically one or five years. Unlike other investment options, GICs cannot be withdrawn or transferred before maturity. This provides investors with a secure and predictable return on their investment.
