Wipro Limited has expanded its operations in South Korea with an increased office presence in Seoul and the launch of a new Innovation Lab.
As per the filing, the development adds to its existing presence in the country, where it serves clients through local teams supported by a global delivery network.
The company has identified South Korea as a key market, given the demand for digital transformation services across industries.
South Korea remains a major centre for sectors such as semiconductors, automotive engineering and industrial manufacturing.
These industries continue to invest in automation, software-led systems and data-driven processes.
The Innovation Lab in Seoul has been set up under the Wipro Innovation Network (WIN), which connects the company’s global innovation facilities. The lab is intended to support development and testing of solutions in collaboration with clients and partners.
It will focus on areas such as product engineering, software-defined vehicles, smart manufacturing and supply chain systems, along with AI-led operational use cases.
Wipro employs several hundred professionals in South Korea and continues to invest in local hiring and training. It is also working with academic institutions to build skills in advanced technologies.
The company’s delivery model combines local presence with global capabilities, allowing clients to access expertise while maintaining in-country engagement.
The expansion follows the acquisition of the Digital Transformation Solutions business unit of HARMAN, a Samsung company. More than 5,000 professionals joined Wipro across regions as part of the transaction, including teams in South Korea.
This has added to its engineering and digital capabilities, particularly in areas linked to industrial and automotive technologies.
