TVS Motor Appoints Peyman Kargar as Director and CEO From January 27, 2027

TVS Motor Company has appointed Peyman Kargar as its next Director and Chief Executive Officer, as per an exchange filing dated August 28, 2026. He will take over on January 27, 2027, succeeding K. N. Radhakrishnan, who will continue as Director and CEO until that date.
The appointment was approved by the Board at its August 28, 2026, meeting on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. Kargar has been appointed for a term of five years as a Whole-Time Director and CEO.
Radhakrishnan To Remain on the Board
Once Kargar takes charge, Radhakrishnan will move to a Non-Executive Director role. He will remain in that position until the company’s ensuing Annual General Meeting, scheduled for July 2027.
The announcement sets out the timeline for the management change, with the current CEO continuing in his role until Kargar formally takes over in January.
From International Business to the Corner Office
Kargar currently serves as President – International Business at TVS Motor. The international business accounted for 29% of the company’s sales volume and was growing at 33%, according to TVS Motor.
He has worked in the automobile industry for more than three decades. His experience spans engineering, manufacturing, project management, quality, sales and marketing, and business development across Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Earlier Roles at Nissan and Renault
Before joining TVS Motor, Kargar was Global Chairman and President of INFINITI, Nissan’s luxury brand. During the three years leading up to March 2023, the brand’s volume increased by 20%, according to the company.
He has also been Chairman and Senior Vice President for Nissan’s Africa, Middle East and India region, and CEO of Datsun, where he oversaw operations in more than 80 countries. Earlier, he was Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Renault Group, covering 50 countries.
TVS Motor’s Recent Performance
TVS Motor sold 5.9 million vehicles globally in FY2025-26 and reported 30% revenue growth during the year.
Kargar’s appointment takes effect in January 2027, while Radhakrishnan will continue on the Board as a Non-Executive Director until the AGM scheduled for July 2027.
