Triveni Turbine Share Price Falls 8% Despite Strong Order Book?

Triveni Turbine share price came under sharp selling pressure on Tuesday, August 11, falling as much as 7.95% to ₹586.10 on the NSE. The decline came a day after the company reported its Q1 FY27 results, where revenue growth and order bookings remained healthy but profitability weakened.
The stock’s fall reflects investor concerns over the sharp decline in operating profit and margins, despite a strong order pipeline that could support revenue visibility in the coming quarters.
Why Did Triveni Turbine Share Price Fall?
Triveni Turbine reported a 25% year-on-year (YoY) decline in net profit to ₹50.5 crore in Q1 FY27 from ₹67 crore a year earlier. Revenue from operations, however, increased 15% to ₹397 crore from ₹345 crore.
The pressure came from operating performance, with EBITDA falling 34% to ₹51 crore. The EBITDA margin also declined sharply by 9.5 percentage points to 12.85%, raising concerns about near-term profitability.
As of 11:15 am, Triveni Turbine shares were trading 5.83% lower at ₹599, while the Nifty Smallcap 100 index was up 0.31%.
Is the Order Book a Positive for Investors?
Despite weak quarterly profitability, the company reported a 6.1% YoY increase in Q1 order bookings to ₹568 crore. Exports and aftermarket business contributed 68% and 39%, respectively, supporting a more diversified business mix.
The closing order book stood at ₹2,180 crore, up 5.1% from ₹2,074 crore a year earlier. Export orders accounted for 57% of the backlog, while aftermarket orders surged 115.1% YoY to ₹624 crore, representing 29% of the closing order book.
The company said the strong backlog provides revenue and margin visibility for the coming quarters.
Triveni Turbine Outlook As Per Q1 FY27 Results
Triveni Turbine expects a positive revenue and profit outlook for H2 FY27, supported by its order pipeline and growing demand for energy-efficient power solutions.
Conclusion
The decline in Triveni Turbine share price reflects concerns over weaker Q1 margins and profit, despite healthy revenue growth and order bookings. Investors with a demat account may therefore watch whether the company can convert its strong order backlog into improved margins and earnings in the coming quarters.
