Tilaknagar Industries Share Price in Focus; Company Invests ₹22 Crore for 30% Stake in Black Tiger Distilleries

Tilaknagar Industries Ltd. (TI) has entered the tequila market in India after agreeing to invest ₹22 crore in Black Tiger Distilleries (BTD), the company behind Bodega Suprema No. 5, as per an exchange filing dated September 2, 2026.
TI will acquire a 30% shareholding in BTD on a fully diluted basis. The investment will be made in two parts. TI will put in ₹6 crore in the first tranche, followed by ₹16 crore on or before 12 months from the first tranche.
The deal is TI’s third strategic investment in an emerging beverage company and its first investment in the agave segment.
Bodega Suprema No. 5
BTD was founded by Mohnish Mehta with Productos Finos de Agave (PFA), a tequila manufacturing company in Mexico, and Mansha Group of Companies, an Indian distributor of craft and premium alcoholic beverages. Bodega Suprema No. 5 was recently launched in India.
The tequila is made from 100% Blue Weber Agave sourced from the Highlands of Jalisco. It is crafted and bottled in Mexico. The range has three variants, Blanco, Reposado and Añejo which were developed for the Indian market over three years.
India’s Tequila Market
IWSR data cited by TI showed that tequila volumes in India grew at around 60% CAGR between 2020 and 2025. Volumes increased by approximately 34% in the latest year, while the market is expected to record 13% CAGR through 2030.
The company said demand has been supported by interest in premium spirits, cocktail culture and new drinking occasions. Bodega Suprema No. 5 is priced at ₹4,200-₹5,500 for a 750ml bottle. In Maharashtra, the Blanco costs ₹4,200, Reposado ₹4,500 and Añejo ₹5,500.
Tilaknagar Industries’ Role in the Partnership
TI will provide support to BTD in distribution, sales, marketing, supply chain, finance, and regulatory functions. The company will also use its pan-India distribution network and experience in the spirits business as part of the arrangement.

Conclusion
The investment adds tequila to TI’s existing portfolio of brandy, whisky, rum, and gin. BTD’s Bodega Suprema No. 5 is the company’s first tequila brand for the Indian market.
