
Tata Communications Limited has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Tata Communications (Netherlands) B.V. (TCNL), has completed the acquisition of a 51% stake in Commotion Inc, a US-based AI-native enterprise SaaS platform.
The transaction was closed on December 1, 2025 (Central Time, USA).
TCNL executed a Stock Purchase Agreement and ancillary documents to secure a 51% stake in Commotion on a fully diluted basis. The total consideration stands at approximately $25.50 million (around ₹227 crore), comprising $15.50 million for purchasing shares from existing investors and $10 million towards capital infusion.
Commotion, which also operates through a subsidiary in India, reported revenue of $118,750 for the twelve months ended December 31, 2024. The acquisition aims to enhance Tata Communications’ Customer Interaction Suite by integrating Commotion’s AI-driven orchestration and automation capabilities.
Tata Communications stated that Commotion’s technology will be integrated within its Digital Fabric, including its Kaleyra platform, to enable predictive and generative customer engagement.
As per exchange filings, A S Lakshminarayanan, MD & CEO, Tata Communications, said: “This acquisition marks a significant step in our journey to redefine customer experience in the AI era. With Commotion’s capabilities already integrated into Tata Communications Kaleyra, we are seeing phenomenal customer traction.”

As of December 2, 2025, at 2:53 PM, Tata Communications share price is trading at ₹1,838.30 per share, reflecting a surge of 0.09% from the previous closing price
