Tata AutoComp Systems has completed the purchase of the assets of International Automotive Components Group Sweden AB (IAC Sweden), as per PTI.

The Swedish business, which supplies interior and exterior automotive systems to European manufacturers, has an annual turnover of roughly $800 million. Following the deal, the entity has been renamed Artifex Systems AB and will operate as part of Tata AutoComp.

Operational Shift in Europe

With this acquisition, Tata AutoComp gains a direct presence in Europe, a region where much of the global automotive supply chain is concentrated.

The company stated that this helps it work more closely with European OEMs in both passenger and commercial vehicle categories. Artifex Systems AB brings an existing network of customers and manufacturing capabilities into the group.

Reorganisation Under the Artifex Brand

Tata AutoComp said the next step involves consolidating its related European operations. This includes Artifex Systems AB, Artifex Slovakia, and Artifex Interior Systems, which will be aligned under one brand.

The company noted that this structure is expected to create an identity for its interior and exterior component businesses in the region.

Sector Developments

Automotive component suppliers have been expanding through acquisitions as manufacturers look for wider product support across multiple regions. For companies entering or strengthening their European presence, local production and established customer relationships remain key.

Artifex Systems AB gives Tata AutoComp a foothold in a market with long-term demand for interior modules, exterior panels, and related systems.

Statement from the Company

As per news reports, Vice Chairman Arvind Goel said the acquisition forms part of the group’s international plans. He added that bringing the 3 Artifex entities under a single identity will form part of the integration process.
