Symbiotec Pharmalab Share Price Surges 20%; Signs Protein Manufacturing Deal with European Firm

Symbiotec Pharmalab Limited has signed a 10-year contract with a European alternative protein company to manufacture proteins using fermentation technology. The agreement was announced on November 6, 2026, through a regulatory filing.
The contract is based on a take-or-pay arrangement, under which the European company will have dedicated manufacturing capacity reserved at Symbiotec's facility for the duration of the agreement.
The financial details of the contract have not been disclosed due to confidentiality obligations.
Production at Madhya Pradesh Facility
Manufacturing will begin at Symbiotec's biomanufacturing campus in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. The existing facility has four fermenters, each with a capacity of 100 kilolitres (kL), along with downstream processing equipment and quality assurance and quality control facilities.
The company plans to set up another dedicated plant with fermentation capacity of several hundred thousand litres. The agreement also includes options for further expansion, with the programme's total capacity potentially reaching millions of litres.
Production will initially take place at the existing facility before shifting to the expanded manufacturing infrastructure.
