Suzlon Share Price Surges Over 2% as it Partners with Grasim Industries to Develop Recyclable Wind Turbine Blades

Suzlon Energy has joined hands with Grasim Industries Advanced Materials business and Aditya Birla Renewables to work on recyclable wind turbine blade technology, as per the exchange filing.
The 3 companies have signed an MoU to develop the solution and test its commercial potential through an actual renewable energy project.
Recyclable Blade Technology Takes Centre Stage
The proposed blades will use Grasim's Recyclamine epoxy technology, which is designed to support the chemical recycling of composite materials.
Wind turbine blades are generally difficult to recycle once they reach the end of their operating life. The partnership focuses on addressing this challenge through a recyclable blade solution.
Suzlon to Integrate the Technology
Suzlon will work on integrating the Recyclamine technology into its wind turbine blade manufacturing process.
Aditya Birla Renewables will deploy a turbine fitted with recyclable blades at one of its selected project sites. The deployment is expected to demonstrate how the technology performs under actual operating conditions.
Focus on Commercial Scale
Following the development and project-level demonstration, the partners plan to explore the wider commercialisation of recyclable blade technology.
The collaboration also covers opportunities for broader adoption in India and other markets agreed upon by the companies.
Suzlon Targets Fully Recyclable Future Turbines
Suzlon Co-Founder Girish Tanti said the company is working towards making all its future turbines recyclable over the next three to four years.
He also highlighted the company's S144 platform while discussing Suzlon's efforts towards reducing the environmental footprint of its wind energy equipment.
