Suzlon Energy Limited has secured a 201.6 MW wind power order from Waaree Forever Energies Private Limited (WFEPL), the Independent Power Producer (IPP) arm of the Waaree Group. The project marks Waaree Group's first venture into wind power, as per the exchange filings.
The order will be executed under Suzlon's DevCo model and is the company's second consecutive DevCo-led EPC order within a week.
The wind project will be developed in Andhra Pradesh, where Suzlon's order book has grown to nearly 1 GW.
Suzlon will install 64 flagship S144 wind turbine generators, each with a rated capacity of 3.15 MW, for the project.
The company's scope of work extends beyond turbine supply.
Suzlon will provide a complete Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) package covering land acquisition, turbine supply, Balance of Plant (BoP), commissioning, and lifetime operations and maintenance services.
Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman, Suzlon Group, said the partnership brings together two companies that have grown alongside India's renewable energy sector. He added that the collaboration reflects the industry's shift towards integrated renewable energy solutions and the increasing adoption of the DevCo business model.
Ajay Kapur, Chief Executive Officer, Suzlon Group, thanked Waaree Group for awarding its maiden wind project to Suzlon. He said the order reinforces the growing demand for partners capable of de-risking execution and delivering projects at scale, adding that Suzlon's integrated project development and EPC capabilities have become a key differentiator.
Pawan Agrawal, Chief Executive Officer, Waaree Forever Energies Private Limited, said the company is building a diversified renewable energy portfolio beyond solar through its IPP business.
He described the 201.6 MW wind project as an important milestone and added that Waaree looks forward to a long-term partnership with Suzlon to strengthen India's renewable energy ecosystem.
