Suzlon Energy Share Price in Focus as Group Appoints Mr Ashok Ramchandran as President, India Business

Suzlon Group has appointed Ashok Ramchandran as President, India Business with effect from 4 June 2026.
The company said he will report to Group Chief Executive Officer Ajay Kapur and has been designated as a Senior Managerial Personnel (SMP).
The appointment was disclosed through an exchange filing on June 1, 2026.
Experience Across Industries
Ramchandran has over 20 years of experience across the energy, industrial products, and vertical mobility sectors.
His career has included leadership roles in India, Southeast Asia and Australia, covering business operations, manufacturing and organisational growth.
Before joining Suzlon, he served as Chief Operating Officer and board member at JSW. According to the company, he was involved in the expansion of generation capacity from nearly 5 GW to 30 GW over a period of around 3 years.
Previous Roles
A large part of Ramchandran’s career was spent with the Schindler Group. He later became Chief Executive Officer and President of Schindler India & South Asia, where he oversaw manufacturing, operations and research and development activities across the region.
During that period, the business reported revenue growth from about ₹1,000 crore to ₹3,000 crore.
Timing of the Appointment
The appointment comes at a time when wind power installations in India have been increasing. Suzlon noted that the country added a record 6.5 GW of wind energy capacity in the previous year. The company also cited industry estimates indicating annual installations could reach 13 GW to 15 GW in the coming years.
Suzlon stated that Ramchandran will lead its India business operations as the company continues to execute projects in the domestic renewable energy market.

As of 31 March 2026, Suzlon had installed 21.7 GW of wind energy capacity across 17 countries.
The company has an installed base of more than 15.7 GW in India and nearly 6 GW outside the country. It also employs over 8,500 people globally.

As of June 2, 2026, 10:59 am, Suzlon Energy share price was trading at ₹52.76, down 2.10% from the previous closing price.
