Sudarshan Chemical Industries has announced that its step-down wholly owned subsidiary, Sudarshan Switzerland SLO AG, has signed an agreement to buy an aluminium dyes and chemicals manufacturing plant in Muttenz, Switzerland. The agreement was signed with Clariant Additives (Switzerland) AG on August 24, 2026.
The deal is for the plant and identified assets used to make aluminium dyes. The plant has been making products from Sudarshan Chemical's aluminium dyes business for several years.
Deal Worth CHF 7 Million
Sudarshan Chemical will pay a base price of CHF 7 million for the assets. The final consideration will also include the value of the inventory, which will be calculated according to the terms of the agreement.
Plant Already Makes Sudarshan Products
The Muttenz plant has been making aluminium dyes for Sudarshan Chemical's group for years.
The products include brands such as Sanodal, Sanodure, Sanodye and Anodal. With this deal, the company will move from having a supply arrangement with the plant to directly owning the assets.
What Are Aluminium Dyes Used For?
Aluminium dyes are used to give anodized aluminium its colour and durability. These products are used in areas such as automotive and consumer electronics components, packaging and industrial parts.
Transaction Still Has Conditions
The transaction is subject to certain conditions being completed. Once those conditions are met, possession of the identified assets and related records will be transferred to Sudarshan's subsidiary.
The company has also clarified that this is an asset purchase and does not mean that Sudarshan is acquiring Clariant Additives (Switzerland) AG itself.
