
SJVN Limited on May 14, 2026, said the Ministry of Power has appointed Shri Diwakar Nath Misra as Part-time Official Director and Government of India Nominee Director on the company’s board, as per an exchange filing.
The company said Misra is currently serving as Additional Secretary (Hydro) in the Ministry of Power.
SJVN also stated that he is not related to any director on the board and has not been restricted by SEBI or any other authority from holding the position of director in a listed company.
Misra belongs to the 2000 batch of the Indian Administrative Service and is from the Assam-Meghalaya cadre. The profile shared by SJVN said he has worked in sectors such as power, finance, commerce, petroleum and natural gas, rural development and personnel administration over more than two decades.
His earlier postings in Assam included assignments as SDO (Civil), Rangia, Additional Deputy Commissioner in Kamrup district and Deputy Commissioner of Dhemaji and Golaghat districts.
The filing said he handled matters linked to district administration, land revenue and development work during these roles.
At the Centre, Misra has worked in the Cabinet Secretariat, Ministry of Defence, Department of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and the Department of Commerce.
He also served as Secretary of the Oil Industry Development Board during his tenure in the petroleum sector.
The filing further noted that he took charge as Additional Secretary in the Department of Revenue under the Ministry of Finance in August 2025.
As of May 15, 2026, 1:21 pm, SJVN share price was trading at ₹77.38, up 0.58% or ₹0.45 from the previous closing price.
SJVN is a Navratna public sector company operating in hydro and renewable energy projects. The latest appointment follows an order issued by the Ministry of Power on May 14, 2026.
