Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) Limited announced that its 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh generated 2,098.03 million units (MU) of electricity as of 26 March 2026.
As per the filing dated March 27, 2026, this is the highest output recorded by the station so far, crossing its earlier peak achieved in FY 2019-20.
The plant had already met its annual design energy target of 1,878 MU for FY 2025-26 on 8 December 2025. This was the fastest the station has reached its yearly target since it began operations.
The current output indicates that generation has continued beyond planned levels in the remaining months of the financial year.
The generation record was reached during a visit by Director (Personnel) Ajay Kumar Sharma to the project site. He visited the powerhouse and met teams involved in operations and maintenance.
The visit also included interactions with equipment-related personnel working at the station.
Company officials linked the higher output to routine plant operations and coordination between teams.
Internal remarks highlighted the role of staff working across shifts and maintaining equipment performance. The outcome was described as a result of continued operational efforts at the project level.
The Rampur Hydro Power Station has recorded steady output since commissioning.
In recent years, it has met or crossed its design energy targets within shorter timeframes. This shows consistent utilisation of installed capacity and stable operating conditions during parts of the year.
Senior officials from other associated hydro projects were present at the site when the record was noted.
These included representatives linked to nearby hydro operations within the company’s portfolio. The visit coincided with the plant crossing its earlier generation benchmark.

As of March 30, 2026, 11:23 am, SJVN Limited share price was trading at ₹64.83, down 2.03% from the previous closing price.
The latest figure marks the highest recorded generation for the Rampur station. With the annual target already met earlier, total output for FY 2025-26 remains above design levels so far, depending on water availability in the remaining period.
