One 97 Communications Ltd has introduced Split Bills on the Paytm app, a feature that enables users to record, divide and settle shared expenses, as per an exchange filing dated July 29, 2026.
The launch comes ahead of Friendship Day and is for situations where groups need to split costs, including travel, dining, shopping, fuel, entertainment and household expenses.
Users can create separate groups and maintain a record of all shared payments in one place.
The feature allows expenses to be split in four ways. Users can divide the bill equally, enter a fixed amount for each person, assign shares, or split it by percentage.
The app also provides a summary showing the total amount spent, individual contributions, pending dues, payments to be received, and recent activity. Payment reminders can be sent through the app, while outstanding amounts can be settled using Paytm UPI.
Split Bills is not restricted to payments made through Paytm. Users can add expenses paid using other UPI applications, cash, debit cards, or credit cards, allowing different payment modes to be recorded within the same group.
Payments completed outside the app can also be marked as received, helping users maintain an updated expense record. According to the company, there is no cap on the number of expense entries, and the feature is available without subscription charges.
The new feature has been added alongside other money management services available on the Paytm app.
These include Spend Summary for tracking expenditure, Hide Payments for transaction privacy, downloadable UPI statements and home screen widgets that provide quicker access to payment functions.
The company has positioned these tools as part of its broader payments and financial services offering.
