Maharashtra Krishna Valley Development Corporation, Pune, has declared Patel Engineering Limited (PEL), along with its joint venture partners, as the Lowest Bidder (L1) for a ₹133.25 crore irrigation infrastructure project.

The contract pertains to the Tasgaon Lift Irrigation Scheme under the Guruvarya Late Laxmanraoji Inamdar Lift Irrigation Scheme in Maharashtra.

The project involves comprehensive civil, mechanical, and electrical works, including construction of head works, pump houses, switch yards, rising mains, delivery chambers, and installation of pumping machinery.

Irrigation Infrastructure Development

A key component of the project is the development of a closed pipe distribution system designed to serve an irrigable command area (ICA) of 2,277 hectares. The network will benefit six villages, Tasgaon, Varne, Karandwadi, Devkarwadi, Degaon, and Nigadi, —cated in Satara Taluka of Satara District.

The scope also includes excavation of deep trenches for laying rising mains, along with providing, supplying, lowering, laying, and jointing of Mild Steel (MS), Prestressed Cement Concrete Pipes (PCCP), and High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipes. This integrated system is expected to improve water efficiency and ensure reliable irrigation supply across the command area.

Execution Timeline and JV Structure

The project is scheduled to be completed within 48 months. It will be executed through a joint venture structure, with Patel Engineering holding a 51% stake, giving it majority participation in execution and revenue share.

The order strengthens PEL’s presence in the water infrastructure segment, particularly in lift irrigation and large-scale distribution systems. Such projects are critical for enhancing agricultural productivity and supporting rural development in drought-prone regions of Maharashtra.

Patel Engineering Share Price Performance

On February 24, 2026, Patel Engineering share price opened at ₹28.50. At 11:31 AM, the share price of Patel Engineering was trading at ₹28.15, up by 0.79% on the NSE.
