Ola Electric has achieved a significant milestone by securing the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification for its Shakti 9.1kWh battery pack, powered by 4680 Bharat Cells.
This certification marks a crucial step in the company's efforts to enhance energy storage solutions in India.
On January 16, 2026, Ola Electric announced the BIS certification for its Shakti 9.1kWh battery pack. This certification ensures that the battery pack meets the IS 16242 (PART1): 2025/IEC 62040-1: 2017 standards, having undergone rigorous testing for electrical and mechanical safety.
The tests included short-circuit and overload protection, fire and thermal hazard safeguards, and environmental stress testing.
Ola Shakti offers automotive-grade safety and high efficiency with zero running and maintenance costs. It provides instant 0 ms changeover time and operates across a voltage range of 170V-270V, protecting appliances from voltage fluctuations.
The IP67-rated batteries are spill-proof and tested for dust, water, and monsoon conditions.
Ola Shakti is available in 2 configurations: 3kW/5.2kWh priced at ₹1,49,999 and 6kW/9.1kWh priced at ₹2,49,999. The system can power air conditioners, refrigerators, induction cookers, farm pumps, and communication equipment, offering fast charging times and up to 1.5 hours of backup on full load.
Deliveries for the 9.1kWh model will commence at the end of January 2026, while the 5.2kWh model will be available from mid-February 2026.
