NTPC Green Energy Share Price Surges as Subsidiary NTPC REL Secures 500 MW Capacity in SECI Tender

NTPC Green Energy Limited has informed the stock exchanges that its wholly owned subsidiary, NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), has won 500 MW of contracted capacity in a SECI tender. 

The capacity was secured at a discovered tariff of ₹6 per kWh. The e-reverse auction for the tender was completed on 21 August 2026, and the announcement was made on August 22, 2026. 

Part of Assured Peak Power Tender 

The award is part of SECI's FDRE-IX tender for assured peak power supply from renewable energy projects connected to the interstate transmission system. 

The overall tender covers 6,000 MWh of supply, based on 1,500 MW of power for four hours. SECI conducted the bidding under a tariff-based competitive process. 

NTPC REL Secures One-Third of Capacity 

NTPC REL secured 500 MW under the Request for Selection issued for the tender. The company emerged as one of the successful bidders following the e-reverse auction. 

The tariff discovered for NTPC REL's contracted capacity was ₹6 per kWh. NTPC Green Energy did not provide further details on the projects linked to the capacity in its disclosure. 

Disclosure Details 

NTPC Green Energy shared the information with the NSE and BSE on 22 August 2026. The company said NTPC REL is its wholly owned subsidiary.

NTPC Green Energy Share Price Performance 

As of August 24, 2026, 10:52 am, NTPC Green Energy share price was trading at ₹92.39, a 1.05% increase from the previous closing price.
