
NTPC Green Energy Limited has commissioned an additional tranche of solar capacity at its Khavda project in Gujarat, strengthening its renewable portfolio and advancing progress under its hybrid energy development programme.
The company has declared commercial operations of 37.925 MW at the Khavda Solar Energy Project, which forms part of the 450 MW Hybrid Tranche V initiative.
The newly commissioned capacity represents the 5th operational segment of the overall 300 MW Khavda solar project being executed by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy.
With the latest addition, the cumulative commercial capacity of the NTPC Green Energy group has reached 7,889.335 MW. Following this commissioning, the group’s total installed renewable capacity now stands at 7,927.26 MW, reflecting steady execution momentum across large scale solar assets.
The Khavda project is a key component of NTPC Green Energy’s strategy to scale up hybrid renewable assets combining solar and other clean energy sources.
Continued phased commissioning at Khavda is expected to further support India’s renewable capacity expansion and NTPC’s long-term clean energy roadmap.

As of December 18, 2025, at 10:02 AM, NTPC Green share price is trading at ₹89.39 per share, reflecting a decline of 1.06% from the previous closing price.
The commissioning of the additional 37.9 MW reinforces NTPC Green Energy’s execution capability and positions the group closer to its renewable capacity targets.
