NTPC Green Energy Share Price in Focus; 91.6 MW Solar Unit at Andhra Pradesh Project Declared Operational

NTPC Green Energy Limited announced that a 91.6 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity in Andhra Pradesh has been declared commercially operational. The company disclosed the development to stock exchanges via a filing dated March 9, 2026.
The declaration follows a certificate issued by the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) on 9 March 2026. Based on this certification, the solar capacity was recognised as commercially operational with effect from 27 February 2026.
Part of 250 MW Solar PV Facility
The newly commissioned capacity forms part of a 250 MW solar PV project located in Andhra Pradesh. The project is being implemented through Ayana Kadapa Renewable Power Private Limited.
This entity operates as a subsidiary of Ayana Renewable Power Pvt. Ltd., which itself comes under ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited, a joint venture connected with NTPC’s renewable energy business.
Such project-specific subsidiaries are commonly used to develop and operate renewable power assets across different regions.
Earlier Phase Already Commissioned
The solar facility has been commissioned in phases. The first portion of the project, with a capacity of 158.4 MW, had already been declared commercially operational earlier.
That development was disclosed by the company on 20 February 2026. With the latest announcement, the remaining portion of the project has now entered commercial operation.
Capacity Addition to NTPC Green Portfolio
Following the commissioning of the 91.6 MW capacity, the commercial capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited group stands at 9,201.08 MW.
With this addition, the total installed capacity of the group has increased to 9,292.68 MW, according to the company’s disclosure.
NTPC Green Energy Share Price Performance
As of March 10, 2026, at 9:30 am, NTPC Green Energy share price was trading at ₹86.70, a 0.42% increase from the previous closing price.
Conclusion
The declaration confirms the start of commercial operations for the remaining capacity of the Andhra Pradesh solar project. The addition contributes to the overall installed renewable capacity of the NTPC Green Energy group.
