NLC India Share Price in Focus; Ghatampur Thermal Power Project Fully Commissioned with Unit-3 Commercial Operation Declaration

NLC India Limited has announced that Unit-3 of the Ghatampur Thermal Power Project has successfully achieved Commercial Operation Declaration (COD).
The development marks the full commissioning of the 3×660 MW thermal power project being operated through Neyveli Uttar Pradesh Power Limited (NUPPL).
Unit-3 Achieves Commercial Operations
NUPPL, a joint venture between NLC India Limited and Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (UPRVUNL), declared commercial operations of Unit-3 with effect from June 13, 2026.
The unit has a generation capacity of 660 MW.
Ghatampur Thermal Power Project Fully Commissioned
With the commencement of commercial operations of Unit-3, the Ghatampur Thermal Power Station has become fully operational.
The project consists of three thermal power units of 660 MW each, taking the total project capacity to 1,980 MW.
Joint Venture Between NLC India and UPRVUNL
The project is being developed through Neyveli Uttar Pradesh Power Limited, a joint venture in which NLC India holds a 51% stake while UPRVUNL holds the remaining 49%.
The venture was established to develop and operate the thermal power project in Uttar Pradesh.
Installed Capacity Increases to 8,405 MW
NLC India stated that the commissioning of the final unit has increased the group's overall installed power generation capacity.
Following the COD of Unit-3, the group's installed capacity has risen from 7,745 MW to 8,405 MW.
Project to Support Power Supply
According to the company, the fully commissioned power station is expected to strengthen the reliability of power supply in Uttar Pradesh.
The project will also contribute to meeting the country's growing electricity demand.

As of 15 June 2026, at 12:35 PM, NLC India share price was trading at ₹317.85 per share, reflecting a surge of 0.49% from the previous close.
