Nifty Smallcap 100 Gains 0.25% in Early Trade on Feb 23; BLS and Aegis Vopak Shine

As of 10:41 AM, the Nifty Smallcap 100 index was trading higher by 41.75 points or 0.25% at 17,043.90, compared to its previous close of 17,002.15. The index opened at 17,119.55 and touched an intraday high of 17,202.30, while the day’s low stood at 17,041.50. 

Market breadth appeared mixed, with select stocks driving the gains. The index remains below its 52-week high of 19,224.95 but well above its 52-week low of 14,084.30.

Top Gainers Lift the Index

Among the top performers, BLS surged 9.54% to ₹294.00, emerging as a major gainer. AEGISVOPAK also rallied 9.47% to ₹230.74. TRIDENT gained 5.56% to ₹26.95, while PCBL advanced 4.19% to ₹318.40. CREDITACC rose 3.52% to ₹1,331.20, adding further strength to the index. These gains indicate renewed investor interest in select smallcap counters.

Stocks Under Pressure

On the downside, SIGNATURE declined 4.15% to ₹966.20, while NEWGEN fell 3.54% to ₹537.20. IKS slipped 2.16% to ₹1,560.00, and OLAELEC dropped 2.11% to ₹25.99. TATACHEM also edged lower by 1.84% to ₹702.90. The declines reflect stock-specific profit booking despite overall positive index momentum.
