
Navin Fluorine International has signed an agreement with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) to develop indigenous manufacturing technology for sodium borohydride, an important chemical used in defence applications.
According to the company's regulatory filing, the project aims to speed up the development of a domestic manufacturing process for this critical defence material, helping reduce reliance on imports.
Navin Fluorine said it is proud to collaborate with DRDO and contribute to the Government of India's Make in India initiative.
DRDO announced the partnership on its official social media platform on July 30, 2026. Under the Technology Development Fund (TDF) Scheme, DRDO has awarded the project to Navin Fluorine for the indigenous bulk manufacturing of sodium borohydride.
The organisation also stated that it will provide both financial assistance and technical support to help the company develop the required technology.
Founded in 1967, Navin Fluorine International is one of India's leading fluorochemicals companies. It specialises in fluorine chemistry and manufactures specialty chemicals, high-performance products, advanced materials, and contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) solutions through its subsidiary, Navin Molecular.
The company serves a wide range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, semiconductors, electronics, HVAC, electric mobility, and data centres. It has integrated research, product development, and manufacturing capabilities and supplies customers across India, Europe, and the Americas.
On July 31, 2026, Navin Fluorine International share price (NSE: NAVINFLUOR ) was trading at ₹7,538.50, up 2.06% or ₹152 in the intraday session. The stock opened at ₹7,474 and moved between an intraday low of ₹7,473.50 and a high of ₹7,625.
