Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has started commercial production at the 2nd plant of its Kharkhoda manufacturing facility in Haryana from 18 May 2026, according to a company filing.

The newly commissioned unit has an annual production capacity of 2.5 lakh vehicles. The first plant at the Kharkhoda site became operational in February 2025 with the same installed capacity.

With the latest addition, the total production capacity at the facility has increased to 5 lakh units per annum.

Overall Manufacturing Capacity Increases

Following the commissioning of the second plant, Maruti Suzuki’s total annual production capacity across its manufacturing locations has risen to 26.5 lakh units.

The company currently operates facilities in Gurugram, Manesar, and Kharkhoda in Haryana, besides its Hansalpur plant in Gujarat.

As per the company’s disclosed figures, the Gurugram facility has a capacity of 5 lakh units annually, while Manesar contributes 9 lakh units. Hansalpur accounts for 7.5 lakh units, and the Kharkhoda facility now contributes 5 lakh units.

Expansion Linked to FY27 Capacity Plans

Maruti Suzuki had earlier stated that it planned to add 5 lakh units of production capacity during FY27. The second plant at Kharkhoda is a part of that expansion programme.

The company said the Kharkhoda facility is expected to eventually reach an annual production capacity of 10 lakh vehicles once all planned phases are completed.

According to the statement, the site would then rank among Suzuki’s larger 4-wheeler manufacturing locations.

Models Manufactured at the Facility

The Kharkhoda plant currently manufactures the Brezza compact SUV and the Victoris mid-size SUV.

The foundation stone for the manufacturing facility was laid in August 2022. The company also shared aerial images of the site along with the announcement regarding commencement of production at the second unit.
