Maruti Suzuki India has decided to increase prices of selected models by up to ₹20,000. The company said the price increase will take effect in September 2026. The announcement was made in a filing to the stock exchanges on September 7, 2026.

The company has not given details of the models that will see a price increase. It has also not provided a model-wise breakup of the amount. The filing only states that the increase on selected models will be up to ₹20,000.

Input Costs Lead to Price Increase

Maruti Suzuki said the decision has been taken because of a continuous increase in input costs. The company said it has been dealing with higher costs for the past few months and has taken steps to reduce the impact.

These steps have included cost reduction measures. However, the company said the pressure from higher costs has continued, while inflationary burdens remain at elevated levels.

Part Of Higher Costs to be Passed On

With the cost environment continuing to be difficult, the company said it would pass on part of the higher costs to the market. This means the increase will not cover the entire rise in costs faced by the company.

Maruti Suzuki also said it would continue to keep the impact on customers to a minimum. The filing did not give details on the size of the cost increase or how much of it would be reflected in the prices of individual models.
