Larsen & Toubro Secures Ultra-Mega Order with TenneT for 2 GW Offshore Wind Programme

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured an Ultra-Mega Framework Cooperation Agreement (FCA) with TenneT for its 2 GW offshore wind programme, further expanding its presence in Europe's renewable energy sector, as per the exchange filings.
The agreement has been awarded to a consortium comprising L&T and Hitachi Energy and covers multiple offshore transmission projects under TenneT's high-voltage direct current (HVDC) programme.
Framework Covers Six Projects
The FCA covers six projects in principle, along with future opportunities under TenneT's 2 GW HVDC programme.
The consortium will continue executing IJmuiden Ver Alpha and Nederwiek 1 in the Netherlands, while commencing Nederwiek 3 in the Netherlands and LanWin 5 in Germany.
Programme To Deliver 8 GW Transmission Capacity
Together, the projects represent a cumulative transmission capacity of 8 GW, operating at 525 kV
The infrastructure will transmit renewable electricity generated in the Dutch and German sectors of the North Sea to onshore power grids.
Ultra-Mega Order Classification
The contract has been classified as an Ultra-Mega order under L&T's order classification framework.
According to the company, projects in this category are valued at more than ₹15,000 crore.
Consortium Responsibilities
Under the engineering, procurement, construction and installation scope, L&T will execute offshore converter platforms and associated infrastructure.
Hitachi Energy will provide its HVDC Light technology for efficient power conversion and transmission.
Offshore Engineering Capabilities
L&T said its offshore wind business is supported by engineering centres in India and Sharjah, UAE, strategic global partnerships, a robust supply chain and modular fabrication facilities in Kattupalli, India.
These capabilities enable the delivery of complex offshore structures with a focus on safety, quality and sustainability.

L&T Share Price Performance
As of 28 July 2026, at 12:56 PM, Larsen & Toubro Ltd share price was trading at ₹3,829.10 per share, reflecting a decline of 0.61% from the previous trading session.
