L&T Share Price in Focus; Signs Ultra-Mega Gas Compression Project in Middle East

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has signed a contract for a gas compression project in the Middle East through its L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore business, as per the exchange filing. The contract follows a letter of award that was issued in FY26.  

The project will involve setting up gas compression plants for new onshore facilities. The plants will handle sour gas and will have systems for gas compression, water handling, and propane refrigeration.  

What Will L&T Do? 

L&T will take care of the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work for the project. 

The work includes gas inlet facilities, gas compression systems, condensate and water handling systems, propane refrigeration systems and other related facilities.  

Two Power Substations Also Part of the Work 

The gas compression plants will need their own power supply. For this, L&T's Power Transmission & Distribution business will build two 230 kV extra-high-voltage substations.  

An Ultra-Mega Project for L&T 

L&T has classified the order as an ultra-mega project. As per the company's order classification, an ultra-mega order is worth more than ₹15,000 crore.  

The company has not disclosed the exact value of this particular contract in the release.

L&T Share Price Performance 

As of August 24, 2026, at 10:40 AM, L&T share price was trading at ₹4,094.70 per share, reflecting a surge of 0.04% from the previous trading session.
