L&T Share Price in Focus on Partnering with Indian Army for Pinaka Systems Upgrade

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Indian Army to overhaul and upgrade the in-service Pinaka Multi-Rocket Launcher Systems. This collaboration aims to enhance the operational availability and modernisation of the Pinaka regiments.
Details of the L&T and Indian Army Collaboration
On January 8, 2026, L&T announced a supply order from the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) of the Indian Army.
This order involves the overhaul, upgrade, and obsolescence management of the Pinaka systems. The initiative is a significant step in supporting the lifecycle of Made-in-India artillery systems.
The partnership focuses on managing outdated components, upgrading critical sub-systems, and providing sustained technical support to the Army Base Workshops.
L&T will supply critical spares and support the modernisation of sub-systems, shifting from conventional maintenance to a structured, lifecycle-based framework.
Role of 510 Army Base Workshop
Under this initiative, the 510 Army Base Workshop (ABW) EME will undertake the overhaul and upgrade of critical electronics and systems.
Utilising its extensive domain knowledge, the 510 ABW will collaborate with L&T in a pilot overhaul of the Pinaka Launcher and Battery Command Post.
Upon successful completion of the pilot phase, the remaining systems will be overhauled by the 510 ABW, with L&T continuing to provide critical spares, technical support, and quality oversight.
Blueprint for Defence Lifecycle Management
This model is expected to serve as a blueprint for similar lifecycle management and upgrade programmes across other defence platforms.
It aligns with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision by leveraging indigenous design, manufacturing, and systems integration capabilities.
