Larsen & Toubro’s Heavy Civil Infrastructure business vertical has secured a significant contract from the Royal Commission of Riyadh City for works related to the extension of the Riyadh Metro in Saudi Arabia.
The order forms part of an ultra-mega infrastructure project awarded to a global consortium led by Webuild S.p.A, along with L&T, Nesma & Partners Contracting, Alstom, and IDOM.
This prestigious contract reinforces L&T’s position as a trusted partner in executing complex urban transportation projects across international markets.
The project involves the design and turnkey construction of an 8.4 km extension of the Red Line of the Riyadh Metro network. The alignment will comprise a mix of elevated and underground sections, reflecting the engineering complexity of the project.
In addition, the scope includes the construction of five metro stations designed to integrate seamlessly with the existing metro infrastructure.
The turnkey nature of the contract requires end-to-end execution, covering detailed engineering, civil construction, and coordination with multiple stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
