KPI Green Energy Limited has commenced electricity generation and supply from its grid-connected solar power project awarded by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited. The project has achieved grid synchronisation, with initial power injection now underway.
This development marks a step forward in the company’s renewable portfolio and is expected to contribute to revenue through contracted power sales under a long-term agreement.
The solar project, designed with a capacity of 200 MW AC and 240 MW DC, has been implemented following a competitive bidding process.
With grid connectivity now established, the facility has begun supplying electricity to the state grid. The project operates under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement, providing visibility on tariffs and supporting predictable cash flow generation.
The project forms part of Gujarat’s broader efforts to expand clean energy capacity and strengthen grid stability. It is among the early projects commissioned within the 1.8 GW GSECL Solar Park (South Block) at Khavda.
Through this initiative, the state utility aims to meet renewable purchase obligations while improving energy reliability across demand centres.
With the start of commercial power supply, the project adds to KPI Green Energy’s Independent Power Producer portfolio.
The company continues to build its presence in utility-scale solar and hybrid energy projects, aligning its growth strategy with India’s wider transition towards renewable power infrastructure.
Khavda records high solar irradiation levels and a large number of sunny days annually. These conditions support efficient solar panel performance and consistent energy output.
The region’s flat terrain allows smoother project execution and the deployment of modern solar technologies at scale.
Its proximity to Gujarat’s transmission network and industrial clusters supports effective power evacuation and delivery to consumption centres, aiding regional energy security.
KPI Green Energy Limited’s shares were trading at ₹400.85 as of 29 January 2026, reflecting a decline of 1.28% from the previous close of ₹406.05.

The commissioning of KPI Green Energy’s solar project in Khavda represents operational progress in its renewable energy expansion. With grid connectivity established and long-term offtake arrangements in place, the project is positioned to contribute steadily to power supply and revenue generation while supporting Gujarat’s clean energy objectives.
