Karnataka Bank Share Price in Focus; Launches Capital Gains Account Scheme

Karnataka Bank Limited has introduced the Capital Gains Account Scheme (CGAS), giving customers an option to keep unutilised capital gains in a dedicated account while they plan eligible reinvestments. The scheme was launched on August 28, 2026.
The facility is aimed at taxpayers who have earned capital gains but have not yet completed the required reinvestment. The bank said the account can help customers keep these funds separately while planning their eligible investments.
Two Account Options Under CGAS
Karnataka Bank will offer two types of accounts under the scheme. Capital Gains Account-A will work as a savings deposit account, while Capital Gains Account-B will be available as a term deposit option.
The accounts are intended for customers who need to hold capital gains before making eligible investments. This includes planned investments such as the purchase or construction of residential property, among other permitted uses.
Bank Focuses on Customer Convenience
Raghavendra S Bhat, Managing Director and CEO of Karnataka Bank, said the bank remains focused on offering customer-centric banking solutions.
He added that the CGAS launch is intended to give customers a convenient way to manage their funds while supporting their tax planning and investment decisions.
Customers looking to use the facility can approach their nearest Karnataka Bank branch for details about opening the account, required documentation and how the accounts will operate.
