
JSW Steel has announced a significant achievement in its production capabilities, reporting a combined crude steel production of 30.14 million tonnes for the fiscal year 2026.
This represents an 8% year-on-year growth, underscoring the company's robust operational strategies.
In FY26, JSW Steel's Indian operations produced 29.25 million tonnes, an increase from 26.98 million tonnes in FY25.
The Salem unit's capacity was enhanced from 1.0 MTPA to 1.15 MTPA following upgrades to its casters and the commissioning of a new Ladle Furnace and Vacuum Degasser.
However, the shutdown of Blast Furnace-3 at Vijayanagar for capacity upgradation impacted production, with capacity utilisation at approximately 92% excluding this furnace.
JSW Steel USA in Ohio contributed 0.83 million tonnes to the overall production.
Additionally, the formation of a joint venture with JFE Steel Japan led to the transfer of Bhushan Power and Steel Limited's steel business to JSW Sambalpur Steel Ltd., adding 0.06 million tonnes to the production figures.
In Q4 FY26, combined crude steel production was 7.49 million tonnes. The capacity utilisation for Indian operations was around 96% excluding BF-3 and 87% including it.
This quarter saw a slight decrease compared to Q4 FY25, where production was 7.63 million tonnes.
