JSW Energy and Rongjie Energy Sign MOU for 5 GWh Energy Storage Supply

On August 25, 2026, JSW Energy has entered into a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with China-based Rongjie Energy to procure 5 GWh of energy storage solutions, as per the news report.
This agreement involves the supply of 5 MWh and 6.26 MWh systems, which will utilise Rongjie Energy's 314Ah and 588Ah lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells.
Details of the Energy Storage Agreement
The collaboration between JSW Energy and Rongjie Energy is set to enhance JSW's energy storage capacity. Rongjie Energy, a part of RJE Tech, will provide energy storage systems totalling 5 GWh.
These systems will be based on 5 MWh and 6.26 MWh configurations, leveraging the company's 314Ah and newly mass-produced 588Ah LFP cells.
JSW Energy currently has an installed power generation capacity of 13,450 MW and aims to achieve 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2030. The partnership with Rongjie Energy is a step towards this goal.
Rongjie Energy's Recent Developments
Earlier this month, Rongjie Energy signed a 4 GWh LFP cell framework agreement with Lineage Power for 2027. This builds on an initial 3 GWh cooperation agreement signed in June 2026.
The agreement includes Rongjie Energy's 314Ah and 588Ah core products, designed for utility-scale and commercial & industrial (C&I) energy storage.
