Izmo Limited’s semiconductor packaging subsidiary, izmomicro, has announced the ongoing supply of advanced semiconductor packaging solutions to India’s defence electronics sector.
The development marks a significant expansion of the company’s operations into high-reliability and mission-critical defence applications.
The company is currently supplying advanced packaging technologies for defence electronics programmes in two specialised areas: high-frequency RF module packaging and radar receiver module assembly and packaging. These activities form part of izmomicro’s active supply engagement within India’s growing defence electronics value chain.
In the high-frequency RF segment, izmomicro provides advanced packaging solutions for RF integrated circuits and front-end module assemblies operating at microwave and millimetre-wave frequencies. At such frequencies, the design and structure of semiconductor packaging play a critical role in determining electrical performance and signal stability.
The company’s work includes precision QFN packaging for high-frequency devices, along with custom hermetic and semi-hermetic enclosures designed for RF module assemblies. It also enables multi-chip integration of RF, analogue, and digital components within compact package designs. These solutions are designed for demanding defence applications where signal integrity, thermal performance, electromagnetic compatibility, and long-term reliability are essential.
izmomicro is also involved in the assembly, packaging, and supply of radar receiver module subsystems used in sophisticated radar signal chains. These assemblies are responsible for receiving, amplifying, filtering, and digitising returned radar signals.
The company’s contributions include important elements of the receiver path such as low-noise amplification, analogue-to-digital conversion, and integration with digital processing components. Advanced packaging in these systems plays a crucial role in ensuring stability and operational reliability, particularly in airborne radar environments where equipment must withstand severe vibration, mechanical shock, and wide temperature variations.
The global defence electronics market is valued at over 130 billion US dollars and continues to grow as countries invest in advanced radar, communication, sensing, and electronic warfare technologies. In India, defence modernisation programmes and the push for indigenous development are increasing demand for domestic companies capable of delivering advanced electronics packaging and subsystem integration solutions.
