Hyundai Motor India Share Price Surges; Plans to Increase Vehicles Price Upto 1% Across its Portfolio

Hyundai Motor India has announced that it will increase vehicle prices by up to 1% across its portfolio from September 2026. The exact increase will differ from one model to another and will also depend on the variant.
The company made the announcement in an advance intimation through an exchange filing on August 19, 2026. No model-wise details of the revised prices were included in the filing.
Increase Linked to Higher Expenses
The carmaker said the decision follows a rise in input and commodity costs. It also pointed to higher operational expenses, which have added to the overall cost of running its business.
Hyundai further cited ongoing geopolitical and macroeconomic uncertainties. According to the filing, these factors have continued to put pressure on costs and contributed to the decision to revise vehicle prices.
Costs Partly Passed to Customers
Hyundai said it has been working to optimise costs and absorb some of the increase instead of immediately passing the full impact on to customers. However, the company said these cost pressures have continued.
As a result, it will pass on part of the additional costs through the upcoming price revision. The company described the change as a marginal increase, with the maximum revision capped at 1%.
Hike Will Vary by Model and Variant
The full 1% increase will not necessarily apply to every Hyundai vehicle. The company has stated that the amount of the price revision will vary according to the model and variant.
Hyundai has not specified which models will see the highest increase or provided a revised price list. Customers will therefore have to wait for model-specific prices once the new rates are introduced in September.
