Hyundai Motor India reported consolidated revenue of ₹20,696.1 crore in Q2 FY27, compared with ₹17,460.8 crore in the same quarter last year, according to exchange filings dated October 28, 2026.

Revenue increased 18.5% year-on-year, crossing ₹20,000 crore for the first time since the company began operations. The company sold 219,072 vehicles during the quarter, up from 190,921 units in Q2 FY26.

Sales were also higher than the 178,082 units recorded in Q1 FY27, making it the company’s highest-selling quarter.

Domestic Sales and Exports

Domestic sales rose 18.8% year-on-year to 165,772 units. Exports increased to 53,300 units from 51,400 units in the year-ago quarter, a rise of 3.7%. Export volumes were higher than the 38,708 units recorded in the previous quarter.

SUVs accounted for 67% of domestic sales, with 111,756 units sold. Hatchback sales increased to 31,956 units from 22,620 units, while sedan sales rose to 22,060 units from 17,681 units.

The company reported rural penetration of 26.6% and a CNG sales contribution of 19.1%, both quarterly records. Hyundai also said its new BAYON model had received an encouraging response.

Profit Declines as Costs Rise

Despite higher sales and revenue, net profit fell 23.9% to ₹1,196.2 crore from ₹1,572.3 crore in Q2 FY26. EBITDA declined 18.7% to ₹1,974.5 crore, compared with ₹2,428.9 crore a year earlier.

The EBITDA margin fell to 9.5% from 13.9%. Earnings before interest and tax dropped 25.8% to ₹1,419.1 crore. Hyundai attributed the pressure on profitability to higher raw material costs, although its EBITDA margin improved from 9.3% in Q1 FY27.

The average selling price rose 2% year-on-year to ₹8.07 lakh per car. Domestic discounts fell 8.2% to ₹23,000 per car, while localisation increased from 82% to 84%.

First-Half Results

For the first half of FY27, revenue rose 9.3% to ₹37,030.7 crore. EBITDA fell 24.4% to ₹3,486.2 crore, while net profit declined 29.1% to ₹2,084.8 crore. The figures show that higher sales during the period were accompanied by lower profits.
