As per news report, Embraer and Hindalco Industries have formalized a partnership to assess India's potential for aerospace-grade aluminium manufacturing, aligning with Embraer's localization strategy. 

MoU for Aerospace Aluminium Collaboration 

Embraer and Hindalco Industries signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore aerospace-grade aluminium raw material production in India.  

This initiative aims to support Embraer's industrial projects and deepen its commitment to the 'Make in India' initiative by developing local supply chains. 

Strategic Supply Chain Development 

Roberto Chaves, Embraer's Executive Vice President of Global Procurement and Supply Chain, stated: "This joint action reinforces our focus on identifying local partners... accelerating the development of the Indian industrial base." The collaboration seeks to enhance India's aerospace ecosystem, creating long-term value across the supply chain. 

Embraer's India Expansion Context 

The MOU follows Embraer's ongoing expansion in India, where it engages with industry leaders and government stakeholders.  

The company has evaluated diverse industrial capabilities, including aerostructure assembly, machining, composites, and software development, as part of its localization efforts.

Embraer's India Operations 

Embraer operates 47 aircraft in India across commercial, executive, and defense sectors. Notable deployments include five VIP jets for the Indian government and three EMB 145 AEW 'Netra' surveillance aircraft for the Indian Air Force, highlighting its established presence.
