
Hindalco Industries Limited has expanded its manufacturing footprint by commissioning a new aluminium bicycle components facility in Chakan, Pune, Maharashtra, as per the exchange filings.
The plant is designed to cater to both domestic and international markets while strengthening the company's presence in value-added aluminium products.
The newly operational unit will produce a range of aluminium bicycle components, including frames, rigid forks, handlebars, and wheel rims.
The products are intended for supply to customers in India as well as overseas markets, broadening Hindalco's reach in the mobility segment.
The facility is equipped with advanced manufacturing and finishing capabilities. It has an annual production capacity of approximately 5,00,000 frames and forks, 7,50,000 handlebars, and 8,00,000 pairs of wheel rims, enabling large-scale production across multiple product categories.
The commissioning of the Pune facility aligns with Hindalco Industries Limited's strategy of expanding its portfolio of value-added aluminium offerings and increasing its presence in mobility-related applications.
By adding dedicated bicycle component manufacturing capabilities, the company is diversifying its downstream product range while serving both domestic and export demand.
