Highway Infrastructure share price (NSE: HILINFRA) saw strong buying interest on Tuesday, January 27, following the company's announcement of the start of toll operations at the Kaza Fee Plaza in Andhra Pradesh. Following the update, the stock jumped nearly 7% to an intraday high of ₹54.28.

What Triggered the Stock Rally

The rally came after Highway Infrastructure confirmed that toll collection has begun at Kaza Fee Plaza on the Chilakaluripet–Vijayawada stretch of NH-16, effective January 23, 2026. This stretch spans around 82.5 km and forms part of a key north–south national highway corridor connecting major economic regions.

The Kaza Toll Plaza is known to be among the highest toll-earning public-funded plazas in South India, making it a meaningful addition to the company’s operations.

First Major Toll Operations Contract

The company said this project marks its first large-scale toll operations contract, with a total value of ₹328.77 crore. The mandate was awarded by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and is the biggest toll operations order executed by the company so far.

Under the agreement, Highway Infrastructure will operate the toll plaza for one year, enabling immediate revenue generation from the project.

Order Book Strengthens

With the addition of the Kaza Fee Plaza project and other recent order wins, the company’s consolidated order book has increased significantly to ₹1,209 crore. This provides better revenue visibility and supports future growth prospects.

Management Commentary

Commenting on the development, Managing Director Arun Kumar Jain said the project is a key milestone for the company and reflects NHAI’s confidence in its execution capabilities. He added that the company remains focused on efficient operations, technology-driven execution, and long-term value creation.

Conclusion

Highway Infrastructure shares moved higher as the start of toll operations on a key highway project improved revenue visibility and strengthened its order book. The milestone marks a major step in scaling up the company’s tolling business.
