Hero MotoCorp Ltd., the world's largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, has announced the appointment of Mr. Sachin Agrawal as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), effective May 21, 2026.  

This strategic move is aimed at leading the company's R&D transformation in next-generation mobility. 

Sachin Agrawal's Role and Responsibilities 

Mr. Sachin Agrawal will spearhead the next phase of R&D transformation at Hero MotoCorp. He will oversee operations at both the Hero Centre for Innovation and Technology (CIT) and the Hero Tech Centre Germany (TCG).  

With his extensive technical expertise and strategic vision, Agrawal is expected to play a crucial role in advancing Hero MotoCorp's ambitions in electrification and alternative fuels. 

Background and Experience 

With over 29 years of experience in automotive R&D and technology leadership, Sachin Agrawal brings a wealth of knowledge to Hero MotoCorp.  

Prior to this, he served as Executive Vice President & Head – R&D and Technology at VE Commercial Vehicles, a joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors 

His career began at Daewoo Motors, where he contributed to the design of the Matiz chassis system in South Korea. 

Industry Contributions and Achievements 

Agrawal has been instrumental in driving end-to-end development across diesel, CNG, electric, and hydrogen platforms. He has also been at the forefront of connected mobility, AI/ML integration, and software-defined vehicle ecosystems. His leadership has fostered a strong culture of innovation and intellectual property creation.

Educational Background 

An alumnus of IIT Bombay, where he earned an M.Tech in Mechanical Design and was a Gold Medalist, Agrawal is also a Leadership Fellow from Carnegie Mellon University.  

His academic achievements and professional experience make him well-suited to lead Hero MotoCorp's technological advancements.
