HDFC Bank Allots 38,15,292 Equity Shares Under its Employees Stock Options Scheme

HDFC Bank has allotted 38.15 lakh equity shares to eligible employees under its ESOS, resulting in an increase in the bank's paid-up equity share capital.

HDFC Bank Limited has expanded its equity base after issuing fresh shares to employees who exercised their stock-based benefits under the bank's employee compensation programme. 

The allotment comprises 38,15,292 equity shares, issued under the Employees Stock Options Scheme (ESOS) following the exercise of Employee Stock Options (ESOPs) and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).  

Shares Issued to Employees 

The newly allotted shares have been issued to eligible employees as part of the bank's employee stock incentive programme. 

Each equity share carries a face value of Re.1, with the issuance completed pursuant to the exercise of options and RSUs under the ESOS.  

Paid-Up Capital Increases 

Following the allotment, HDFC Bank's paid-up equity share capital has increased from 15,40,13,27,492 equity shares of Re.1 each to 15,40,51,42,784 equity shares of Re.1 each. 

The increase reflects the addition of 38,15,292 equity shares issued under the employee stock option programme.

As of 21 July 2026, at 2:36 PM, HDFC Bank share price was trading at ₹761.50 per share, reflecting a decline of 2.07% from the previous trading session. 

Conclusion 

The latest allotment completes the issuance of equity shares arising from the exercise of ESOPs and RSUs under HDFC Bank's Employees Stock Options Scheme, resulting in an increase in the bank's paid-up equity share capital.
