HDFC Bank shares fell nearly 7% in 2 trading sessions after Q1 FY27 results, erasing about ₹80,000 crore in market value as margins disappointed investors.

HDFC Bank share price (NSE: HDFCBANK ) remained under pressure for the second straight trading session after the bank announced its Q1 FY27 results. Over the last 2 sessions, the stock has declined by nearly 7%, wiping out around ₹80,000 crore from the bank's market capitalisation.

On July 21, 2026, the stock opened lower at ₹769.15 on the NSE and touched an intraday low of ₹767.25. Around 10:40 AM, it was trading at ₹767.55, down 1.29%, while the Nifty 50 was down 0.20%. At the time, HDFC Bank was the biggest loser in the Nifty 50 index. The bank's market capitalisation stood at approximately ₹11.73 lakh crore.

Highlights of HDFC Bank's Q1 FY27 Performance

For the quarter ended June 2026:

  • Total income declined to ₹92,184 crore from ₹99,200 crore a year earlier.
  • Interest income increased to ₹79,363 crore, compared to ₹77,470 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
  • Net interest income (NII) rose 7% year-on-year to ₹33,530 crore.
  • Operating profit fell to ₹28,169 crore from ₹35,734 crore in the same quarter of the previous year.
