HCLTech has announced the inclusion of three of its network automation RAN applications (rApps) in the rApp Directory of Ericsson. The directory serves as a catalog of commercially available rApps for the Ericsson Intelligent Automation Platform (EIAP), enabling communication service providers to discover and deploy automation solutions seamlessly.
The addition strengthens HCLTech’s role in advancing open, standards-based Radio Access Network (RAN) automation across global telecom networks.
Among the listed applications is the Traffic Balancer rApp, designed to analyse real-time network conditions and intelligently redistribute traffic across available paths. This helps reduce congestion, lower latency, and improve overall network performance, critical for handling rising data demand.
The Energy Optimizer rApp focuses on sustainability and cost efficiency. It dynamically scales base station resources during low-traffic periods, improving energy efficiency without affecting service quality. This capability is particularly important for telecom operators seeking to lower operational expenses and meet environmental goals.
The third solution, the Network Slice Optimizer rApp, is tailored for 5G environments. It allocates physical resource blocks to support multiple network slices, each with distinct service-level requirements. This enables operators to deliver differentiated services for use cases such as IoT, enterprise connectivity, and ultra-reliable low-latency applications.
By supporting 5G slicing, the rApp enhances flexibility and service customisation across telecom networks.
“These rApps highlight HCLTech’s commitment to productizing network automation within standardized, open ecosystems,” said Hari Sadarahalli, Corporate Vice President and Global Head, Engineering and R&D Services, HCLTech. “Leveraging Ericsson’s EIAP framework, we are better able to deliver modular, interoperable solutions that accelerate deployment, simplify integration and drive efficiency across 4G and 5G networks — helping operators scale 5G and embrace autonomous networks with trusted, real-world-ready automation.”
On March 4, 2026, HCLTech share price (NSE: HCLTECH) opened at ₹1,356.00, touching the day’s low at ₹1,356.00, as of 11:01 AM on the NSE.
