HCLTech, NetApp Expand Partnership for Hybrid Cloud Storage-as-a-Service to Accelerate Enterprise AI Adoption

HCLTech and NetApp have expanded their partnership to offer hybrid cloud storage-as-a-service (STaaS) for enterprises. The companies announced the expanded partnership on August 13, 2026.
The service will cover AI, generative AI, and traditional enterprise workloads under a consumption-based model.
Pay-As-You-Go Storage
The offering combines HCLTech’s Utility for Everything (U4X) digital infrastructure framework with NetApp Keystone, a pay-as-you-go storage service.
Enterprises can change storage capacity, performance, and data services according to their workload requirements.
The service will also work with HCLTech’s AI Factory suite, which covers AI development, deployment and operations. The companies said the arrangement is to support the move from AI pilots to larger enterprise deployments.
Data Management
Under the arrangement, workloads can run closer to where the data is stored. HCLTech and NetApp said this supports data readiness and governance, while allowing infrastructure and data services to be adjusted as workload requirements change.
The expanded service follows earlier deployments by the two companies across different industries.
These projects involved modernising data infrastructure and using consumption-based operating models, with requirements around scalability, flexibility, and compliance.
Earlier Industry Deployments
A global food and beverage company used a consumption-based model to reduce upfront investment and provide greater flexibility in its operations.
A European telecommunications provider used the model across distributed environments, with requirements related to scalability, resilience, and regulatory compliance.
HCLTech's Scale
HCLTech has more than 223,000 employees across 60 countries. It operates across sectors including financial services, manufacturing, life sciences and healthcare, technology, semiconductors, telecom, retail and public services.
The company reported consolidated revenue of $14.8 billion for the 12 months ended June 2026. The expanded partnership adds the STaaS model to the companies’ existing work on enterprise data infrastructure.
