GRSE Share Price in Focus; Partners with DNV and Damen to Enhance Maritime Capabilities

On September 3, 2026, Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE), a Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, has announced the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with DNV and Damen, as per the exchange filings.  

These agreements aim to enhance GRSE's capabilities in warship design, shipbuilding, and dredger construction. 

GRSE and DNV Collaboration 

On September 2, 2026, GRSE signed an MoU with DNV, a globally recognised maritime organisation, during the SMM Hamburg Maritime Trade Fair in Germany.  

This partnership focuses on advanced warships, green shipping technologies, digital shipbuilding, and skill development. DNV's expertise in classification, certification, and technical assurance will complement GRSE's established capabilities. 

GRSE and Damen Partnership 

In a parallel development, GRSE entered into an MoU with Damen Technical Cooperation B.V., Netherlands, also on September 2, 2026.  

This agreement aims to explore the design and construction of advanced dredgers in India. The collaboration will leverage Damen's expertise in Trailing Suction Hopper Dredgers (TSHD) and Water Injection Dredgers (WID) alongside GRSE's shipbuilding strengths. 

Focus Areas and Objectives 

The MoUs with DNV and Damen are set to enhance GRSE's capabilities in several key areas. With DNV, the focus will be on advanced warships, sustainable technologies, digitalisation, and knowledge exchange. The Damen partnership will concentrate on advanced dredger design, technology transfer, and developing indigenous dredger-building capabilities.

GRSE's Historical Achievements 

GRSE has a rich history dating back to 1884 and has built over 800 platforms, including 118 warships for the Indian Navy and Coast Guard.  

The company has also diversified into engineering, producing pre-fabricated steel bridges and marine diesel engines. GRSE's infrastructure allows for the concurrent construction of 28 ships, supported by a skilled team and advanced design facilities.
