
GMR Airports shares experienced a notable rise of over 6% in morning trading following the company's announcement of a net profit of ₹400.49 crore for Q4FY26.
This marks a significant recovery from a loss of ₹252.66 crore in the same period last year.
In the 4th quarter of the financial year 2025-26, GMR Airports reported a net profit of ₹400.49 crore. This is a substantial improvement compared to the loss of ₹252.66 crore recorded in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
The company's total income for the quarter increased to ₹4,042.90 crore from ₹2,976.76 crore a year ago.
The positive financial results led to a surge in the company's stock price, which opened over 4% higher at ₹102 and reached an intraday high of ₹104.14 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
For the fiscal year ending March 2026, GMR Airports achieved a profit of ₹472 crore, marking its first full-year profitability in over a decade.
The company's total income for the year rose to ₹15,200.75 crore from ₹10,835.89 crore in the previous year.
GMR Airports, which operates major airports in Delhi and Hyderabad, handled 31.7 million passengers in the March quarter and a record 121.6 million passengers for the entire fiscal year.
Delhi airport alone managed 21.2 million passengers in the March quarter and 78.7 million for the full year.
According to the company's investor presentation, GMR Airports handled 27% of India's total passenger traffic in FY26.
The share of domestic traffic was 26%, while international traffic accounted for 34%. International passengers made up 24% of the total passengers handled by GMR-operated airports in the March quarter and FY26.

As of 9:45 AM, GMR Airports' stock was trading at ₹103.40, up 5.7%, outperforming the benchmark Nifty 50, which remained flat with a negative bias.
Over the past year, GMR Airports has gained 20%, significantly outperforming the Nifty 50's 3.7% decline. Over a 3-year period, the stock has rallied more than 150%, compared to a 28.5% gain in the Nifty index.
As of May 29, 2026, at 10:41 AM, GMR Airports share price on NSE was trading at ₹103.00 up by 5.27% from the previous closing price.
