
GAIL (India) Limited announced its financial results for the first quarter of FY27 on July 31, 2026. The company reported strong growth in revenue and profitability compared with the previous quarter, supported by higher natural gas transmission and improved liquid hydrocarbon production.
However, gas marketing and polymer volumes declined during the quarter due to geopolitical challenges.
On a standalone basis, GAIL reported revenue from operations of ₹38,982 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with ₹34,797 crore in Q4 FY26.
The company's EBITDA increased sharply to ₹6,948 crore from ₹2,175 crore in the previous quarter.
Profit Before Tax (PBT) stood at ₹5,773 crore, up from ₹1,577 crore in Q4 FY26, while Profit After Tax (PAT) rose to ₹4,292 crore, compared with ₹1,262 crore in the previous quarter.
On a consolidated basis, GAIL reported revenue from operations of ₹41,350 crore for Q1 FY27, compared with ₹35,705 crore in Q4 FY26.
The company's EBITDA improved to ₹7,573 crore, while Profit Before Tax (PBT) rose to ₹6,268 crore.
Profit After Tax (PAT), excluding minority interest, increased to ₹4,665 crore, up from ₹1,485 crore in the previous quarter.
During Q1 FY27, GAIL incurred a capital expenditure (capex) of ₹6,176 crore against its planned annual capex of around ₹11,500 crore.
The company said the investments are in line with its long-term growth strategy.
GAIL reported mixed operational performance during the quarter.
The company said the increase in natural gas transmission and liquid hydrocarbon production highlights the strength of its core infrastructure business. However, lower gas marketing and polymer volumes reflected the impact of geopolitical disruptions during the quarter.

On July 31, 2026, GAIL (India) share price closed at ₹181.00, up 4.24% or ₹7.36 in the day's trading. The stock opened at ₹174.45 and moved between an intraday low of ₹173.50 and a high of ₹182.21.
GAIL delivered a strong financial performance in Q1 FY27, with significant growth in revenue and profitability driven by higher natural gas transmission and improved liquid hydrocarbon production. While geopolitical challenges affected some business segments, the company's continued investment in infrastructure and strong operational base support its long-term growth strategy.
